John Stevens

John Stevens (born 1955) was educated at Winchester and at Magdalen College,Oxford.  He was Head of European Foreign Exchange and Government Bond trading at Morgan Grenfell from 1983-89.  From 1989- 99 he was a Conservative
MEP and became Chair of the European Parliament’s sub-committee on the creation of the euro. He was also the EP’s representative to the European Monetary Institute (the precursor of the ECB).  Since 1999, he has been an adviser to a number of private financial companies, including St James’s Place Capital, on currencies, and
to the governments of Estonia, Slovakia and Croatia on joining the euro. His continuing political interests have included, co-founding the pro-Euro Conservative Party in 1999, running as an independent against Nigel Farage in 2010 and co-founding the Rejoin the EU Party in 2016. He is running in this General Election for the Rejoin the EU Party in Kensington and Bayswater.
