Miriam Wood

Miriam Wood

Miriam has lived in the Dover area for 40 years, teaching secondary English classes and raising her children. In 2003, Miriam became a university support tutor for students with mental health issues and autism and provided support to dyslexic students at different universities. She is now retired.

She is a trustee for a refugee support charity and an almshouse charity.

Miriam is interested in refugees, the asylum system and new laws aiming to restrict our freedoms. She is concerned about experiences of ethnic minorities in school and at work and believes that the two party state impedes true democracy.
