Old King Charles is a cheery old soul
And a cheery old soul is he
He talked to his plants and he talked at COP
And he said fossil fuels must stop.
But some world leaders had a fine excuse
And arguments too had they
That the world still needs their oil and gas
For which plenty of people will pay.
So the new COP mission
Must be only TRANSITION.
To the scientists’ dismay,
They have their way.
So the delegates parted most weary,
And King Charles will now look quite uncheery.
